    • South Africa has relatively high enrollment and strong institutions, but faces persistent inequalities in access and affordability. Student movements like #FeesMustFall have sparked national conversations around inclusive education.
    • Europe leads in policy coordination and innovation through the Bologna Process, but faces disparities between regions, rising tuition in some areas, and challenges in integrating refugees and migrants into higher education.

    The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4, emphasize the need to “Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.” Target 4.3 calls for ensuring equal access to affordable and quality technical, vocational, and higher education, including university education. This goal encourages stakeholders to address challenges within the higher education system, such as affordability, accessibility, and alignment with labor market demands. By aligning with this target, Bodmando works to ensure that higher education institutions offer inclusive, accessible, and quality education that can contribute to sustainable development and societal well-being.
