Fundraising mapping and capacity strengthening support provided by Bodmando Consulting Group to Danish Family Planning Association (DFPA) partners in East Africa, aimed at strengthening fundraising capacity, identifying relevant funding opportunities, improving resource mobilisation practices, and supporting partners to build more sustainable and diversified funding strategies.
DFPA sought the services of Bodmando Consulting Group to support its partner organisations in navigating an increasingly competitive and changing fundraising environment.
The consultancy focused on addressing key challenges affecting partners’ ability to identify and pursue suitable funding opportunities, strengthen internal fundraising practices, and communicate their organisational impact effectively to potential donors.
The main objectives were:
Bodmando adopted a phased and participatory approach combining a fundraising capacity assessment, donor and funding opportunity mapping, capacity-strengthening workshops, and targeted technical support.
The consultancy used a combination of consultations, desk review, training, mentoring, and practical support to understand partners’ fundraising needs and strengthen their ability to identify and pursue relevant funding opportunities.
The approach also incorporated impact reporting and peer learning to support partners in communicating their organisational results and applying fundraising skills in practice
Bodmando strengthened the fundraising and resource mobilisation capacity of DFPA partners in East Africa, equipping organisations with improved knowledge of funding opportunities, fundraising strategies, donor engagement, and impact communication. The support helped partners better understand the changing funding landscape and identify opportunities aligned with their organisational priorities.
Through practical training, mentoring, and technical support, the consultancy enabled partners to apply fundraising knowledge more effectively, strengthen their organisational positioning, and improve how they communicate their work and impact. This contributed to stronger readiness to pursue diversified and sustainable funding opportunities.
